Accuprobe SMT

The "Accuprobe SMT" is a surface mount version of the N2CX Accuprobe
RF Detector Probe. The smaller size allows the actual probe circuitry
to fit inside a highlighter pen barrel. Thus making the probe easier
to handle and hold, especially in tight areas.

The power for the "Accuprobe SMT" is derived from a readily available
standard 9V battery. The battery, power switch, and an LED indicator
light are housed inside a dental floss box. The dental floss box also
has two stainless steel machine screws protruding from one side of
the dental floss box. These screws are spaced slightly less than the
standard 0.75 inch spacing used by many high quality digital
voltmeters for their probe lead connections. (I spaced the screws
at 0.70 inch). This allows the screws to be inserted into the digital
voltmeter's probe lead connectors with a slight spring action of the
plastic dental floss box holding them in place and making good
contact for the "Accuprobe SMT" probe signal to interface to the
digital voltmeter. If your DVM has a different lead connector
spacing, then space the screws appropriately.
