ShipPlotter Interactive Map Demonstration

This page demonstrates the capabilities of the ShipPlotter program to receive and plot position data from larger merchant vessels. ShipPlotter, using audio fed to the PC's sound card or a dedicated AIS receiver, decodes data received on 161.975 and/or 162.025 MHz, plots the ships position, and uploads an image of my PC's screen to this web page.

The primary OCRG receiver is located on Mt Hebo (ID = g2), elevation 3200 ft. A N.A.S.A Marine AIS receiver with a KTAS All Message Chip is used as the receiver with a 5/8 wave marine antenna.

The low level gap filler receiver at Roads End (ID = g3) also uses a N.A.S.A. Marine AIS receiver and a J-Pole antenna. Station location is in Roads End, north of Lincoln City, Oregon. Elevation is 90 feet MSL. The various ShipPlotter programs, along with custom software, are used at this location to combine the data from the internet feed and create the web pages.
